About Gregg Dawson
A native of the Northwest growing up in Bellevue, Gregg uses his analytical skills and creative insights to meld economic and consumer perspectives into personalized financial plans and investing strategies. “Good financial counsel,” says Gregg, “begins with sharing stories, thinking together, and, above all else, listening.”
Gregg’s career in the financial services industry began in 1984. His corporate experience in Fortune 100 companies designing and managing financial products, and creating predictive financial performance and economic models allows him to leverage his insider perspective to benefit his clients.
“My money management and investing skills began in childhood. I was fortunate to be born into a family with good money sense and solid values. Much of what I learned came from observation rather than lectures. I never knew how much money my parents had nor earned. I never saw them argue about money. However, there were many discussions revolving around financial choices based on current circumstances. Loans and reduced savings were not an option for discretionary items.
“The greatest blessing came from my Dad who taught me about investing. When he arrived home from work, our routine was for me to quote the performance of his stocks and the Dow. My Dad’s approach to stocks was similar to any risky venture: safety first by being prepared and knowledgeable. My respect for the volatility and riskiness of the market has served me well in balancing passion with prudence.
“I carried this approach into my 20-year career at Fortune 100 companies where my drive was to grow customer value and profitability through ensuring financial and analytical integrity. This required an intimate understanding of consumer behavior, risk management, operational costs and the economy. Now I’m applying this experience to help individuals and families make smart choices about money.”
Gregg received his BA from Washington State University and his MBA from the University of Washington.
When not engaged in finances, you will find Gregg with his family and friends, perhaps hiking, on adventurous travels, serving others or honing his wine making skills.
